A Sign of Spring Arrived Yesterday around Noon in Arkansas!

I am so ready for Spring to get here. So far I have seen crocus's peeking up out of the ground and some early budding on the trees. I received these pics today from my MIL, isn't our God amazing?

My Kids Say the Darndest Things......

Over the past few weeks, my kiddos have really expanded their vocabulary and have really been saying some cute things. Braden of course is 8 yrs old and is becoming "wise" in his age and Kaybrie is 2 and is learning to put words together to make sentences. Here are a few examples that I just have to share & document.

Daddy: Braden, scoot your chair up to the table.
Braden: Dad, I did it last night.

Last night, Braden & Jason (Daddy) are driving to basketball practice, a car keeps dying in front of them at every stop sign.
Braden: I bet all those other drivers of the cars are calling that car the "e" word.
Daddy: Son, what is the "e" word?
Braden: You know Daddy, IDIOT!

Braden: No fair, daddy, you are supposed to let me win, because I'm your kid!

I was washing Kaybrie's hair the other day in the shower.
Kaybrie: Mommy, me eyes burning.

Kaybrie is very independent and wants to do everthing by herself.
Kaybrie: Me. No helping me.

Daddy: Kaybrie, are you going to go walk today and see Justin, Emery, and Faith?
Kaybrie: Yes, Ma'am.

Daddy: What is your favorite food?
Kaybrie: Cheese.
Daddy: What do you get at Sonic?
Kaybrie: Apple Slush
Daddy: What is your favorite song?
Kaybrie: Jesus Loves Me.
Daddy: What do you get at Arby's and McDonalds?

Kaybrie is beginning to sing. Her favorite song to sing is her version of "Rock A Bye Baby".
Kaybrie: Rock A Bye Jesus......

Something Different: A "Royal" Beauty Treatment

Moma, I didn't have to pluck hers this visit!
Me, Feeling like a Queen

In my Ladies Bible study, we are doing Beth Moore's Esther. For almost two years, Esther was put through extensive beauty treatments in order to be presented to King Xerxes, as a possible candidate for Queen. I wonder if the following ancient hair removal was used? Threading.

At the Woodland Hills Mall here in Tulsa, out in the middle of the mall, where there are thousands of shoppers walking by peering, at least 20 women were in line this Saturday for their "royal" beauty treatment, and Moma and I were amongst them. Picture this there are three "threaders", working side by side, criss-crossing a piece of string, holding one end in their mouth, and grabbing facial hairs from their clients. Oh, what pain we go through to be so vain! Actually, the pain in the brow area wasn't bad at all......but, about twice a year I must attack the lip & that was a little painful. Worth it? YES! Cost, $10 for the brow & $5 for the lip. Supposedly the treatment will last up to 6 weeks, if so...I will be back! For more info, click on the following link. have also included a YouTube Video.

Weight Loss Journey- Week 7

I am living proof that you can eat 8 white cupcakes w/ pink icing, not work out, not track my points, and lose .6lbs! Yeah, I don't think that long term that is going to be possible, just think......if I would have worked out and not eaten those cupcakes, I might have lost more weight, but like the Weight Watcher supporter told me, I am back on track and, I did track my points today! New beginning point for me total weight loss so far (to bad I'm only 8hrs into it)......5.6lbs!

Weight Loss Journey- Week 6

Let's see, all of "The Girl's" kiddos are sick, I have not worked out this week, it's Valentine's Day-lots going on parties, bb games, etc. I did not make it to weigh-in! At least I'm honest!

Weight Loss Journey- Week 5

Aaaargh.......I worked out this week, and gained .6lbs- What is up w/ that?

Weight Loss Journey- Week 4 continued......

Below is the award I got from weight watchers, it hangs on my fridge w/ the picture of what I looked like 4 years ago when Jason and I started dating- that's what I want to look like AGAIN!

Tornado Hits. Town Devastated. God IS in Control.

On Tuesday night, February 10th, we were warned that the weather could get rocky statewide in Oklahoma. We were blessed in the Tulsa area w/ only rainfall. Eight miles from my hometown of Wilson, in Lone Grove, was a different story. An F4 tornado carved a path of destruction, leaving 114 homes destroyed, 46 injured, and 8 deceased. I personally do not know any of the deceased, one casualty was a member's son of the church where my brother pastor's. I do have friends whose home were destroyed and damaged, Praise God they are okay. I have numerous friends who's homes were untouched and were camped out in storm cellars, safely. Jason's 1st cousin Kevin and his family live in Lone Grove. They are safe and were protected, Thank You Lord.

When disasters occur, people ask, why? My answer, only God himself knows. I think I have to look at the larger picture. How many people were at the gymnasium's, in Lone Grove and then 5 miles east at Plainview, watching basketball games? How many people were on their way home on Hiway 70 that runs through Lone Grove?

Ecclesiastes 3:1-4

There is an appointed time for everything, and a time for every affair under the heavens,
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to uproot the plant.
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to tear down, and a time to build.
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.

This community of almost 4,600 people will mourn together, heal together, and rebuild together. That's just how we Okie's do. I am proud to be an Oklahoman and I am proud to be originally from Carter County. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire community as they pick up the pieces and put their lives and town back together.

Pictures Courtesy of Julie (Jason's cousin in law), used w/out permission, but I'm hoping she doesn't mind!

100th Post! A Must Read!

Today is Braden's official 100th day of Second Grade. I decided to wait until today to also publish my 100th post. I had huge expectations for this post. I've even laid awake at night thinking about what & how I would do it. Yes, I'm blog obsessed. So my original idea is only 2/3 complete. I have searched every picture file, every SD card, every email, and everyone else's email looking for a specific picture.! Aaargh, can't find it! So here is the 2/3! As I mentioned above, Braden celebrates the 100th day of school, the past two years he has had to decorate something at home and take it back to school.

This was Braden's kindergarten hat. We decorated it with 100 stars, Oklahoma (2007 was our great state's Centennial Birthday), and $100 in play money.

In 2008, this is the picture MIA. I had saved all of his spelling tests. We cut out 100 words from those test. Then we made a poster. It said "I Can Spell 100 Words"!

For 2009, my second grader is not doing an art project at school. I googled and found this Comparison Activity. I helped him think logically on this, because I am pretty sure my second grader believes he is Super Man!

I could carry 100 pieces of paper, but I couldn't carry 100 bricks! I could eat 100 M &M's, but I couldn't eat 100 pizza's! I could put 100 pencils in my desk, but I couldn't put 100 books in my desk!I wish I had 100 puzzles, but I am glad that I do not have 100 dogs!

I love, love, love blogging. Why? It gives me an opportunity to write down my thoughts, share the happenings of my family with others, and most of all gives me a chance to meet new friends. I don't think I have ever met anyone, that I can't talk to. I happened upon a site in December, yep I was blog surfing or stalking, whatever they call it. I left a comment and started following this blog: SimaGJewelry

In honor of my 100th post, The4-Crow's has team up with SimaGJewelry and will be giving away this custom made, handcrafted, cute, cute, cute necklace! Thank you SimaG!

Yep, the big showdown! The Arizona Cardinals vs The Pittsburg Steelers! The Crow Household including my MIL cheered for the Cardinals! Well, Braden, my 8 yr old, cheered for the Steelers (since that is the team he was in flag football this year). We tried to tell him, Dallas Cowboy fans just do NOT cheer for Pittsburg! Anyway, I have to admit, this was the best Super Bowl game in a long while for me! The Cardinals lost, but they gave an awesome effort. The Steelers, hmmm, they played very well, got cheated out of a touchdown and then regained it by running a 100 yd touchdown on an interception (1st in history of the Super Bowl), but I really do think that they played a "dirty" game. Their players are a bunch of hot heads! Final Score: 27-23! Congrats to both teams for a fantastic game! And now, for the rest of the 4-Crow's Super Bowl Sunday!

The Blondie Cartoon from Sunday, was great! I was unable to figure out how to put it on my blog, so here is the link:
Menu for Super Bowl Sunday: Chili, little smokies, almost "Chili's" skillet queso, & a veggie tray.
Now for our favorite Super Bowl commercial. Budweiser: Clydesdale Plays Fetch. I started watching the Super Bowl in college as a marketing assignment, writing down all the commercials. I still do! Thanks Dr. White;)!,173653d9-befd-41b8-abc8-a2d3030735dc&showPlaylist=true&from=FOXSPORTS&fg=SBads
Other notable commercials include: Bud Light Office Meeting, Coca-Cola Bugs Life, Budweiser Horse Love, Castrol Monkeys, Teleflora Box of Flowers, Cheetos The Birds, and Pepsi Max I'm Good. The worst commercial, hands down or towel down was. Go Daddy Danica Shower! Such Peeping Toms!
