If You Don't Like the Weather in Oklahoma, Hang Around!

Three months into 2009, and Oklahoma has already dealt with, drought, tornadoes, and now snow. A March 28th snow storm dumped 6 inches at The Crow's Nest! A wet, heavy snow....beautiful! Good thing that we had gotten about 3 inches of rain before and that the surface temps were above freezing or we could have had much, much more. Parts of the Panhandle received anywhere from a foot to 30 inches, Yikes! This was Kaybrie's 1st real experience with the snow, she wasn't walking on her 1st b-day and was sick earlier this year. When she looked out the window, she was very concerned about her car & slide, it was dirty (snow of course, little girls). Braden of course is Mr. Chill, he loves the stuff and has to wade through the highest snow drift, not leaving a place in the yard untracked! We let the kids get out early to take advantage of the pretty stuff, because we never know how much we will get, or when it will end and melt away.

If the Shoe Fits, Buy Two Pairs!

Oooh la la! My friend Stacye and I were invited to my friend/her SIL Stacey's, Moxie Designer Shoe Party last night. Imagine two rooms full of shoes & accessories, and not just any shoes, Designer names such as Betsey Johnson, Bettye Muller, BCBGirls, Jessica Bennett, Calvin Klein, Via Spiga and many, many more. One room 50% off, the other room 20% off! Talk about a girl's heaven on earth. I should have never watched Sex in the City, read the Confessions of a Shopaholic Series, or ever saw Stacye's Jimmy Choo's! I am a country bumpkin, brought to the city, and that city is not New York City or Milan......Good thing;). How can I develop such a fetish at 34 yrs old?

And you ask, what is Moxie? Here is the definition from their website: "Moxie Shoes is a new concept in shoe and accessory shopping. We specialize in personal fittings and private parties. Come to our store or we will come to you with a variety of fabulous shoes, handbags and jewelry selected with you in mind. If you prefer shopping in the convenience of your own home, you may begin shopping by clicking on shop shoes, shop accessories or shop jewelry, make your selections and your favorite items will be delivered to your door in 2-3 business days." And yes, there is a store in Tulsa, located at 101st & Yale at Mode Boutique. I am so getting on their mailing list.

Enough of that so what shoe caught my fancy? Yes, this gorgeous Betsey Johnson, 1in platform, 4 1/2 inch heels and it was 50% off at only $108. I actually tried them on, they were on my foot, so SEXY. Only two pairs, size 9 and size 10. I put them down, no, I did not NEED them. A little later when we were leaving, I did tell the girl who had grabbed the size 9 that if she decided not to get them, to have the host call me, after all I do own a Visa....My cousin Tonya over at Smart, Fun & Gorgeous, who might have also gotten me in on my newest fetish, told me that I should have gotten them so I could rent them to her. Now that is an idea!
This is the shoe that Stacye tried on. Betsye Johnson's open-toed Slingback. She too, walked away only wearing her Jimmy Choo's.But, we did walk away with a glass of wine, some quality girl/mom time, and a new wallet in each of our hands. Mine is a flat jewelry wallet for travel, I have loved my flat wallet for my purse, and when I do get the opportunity to travel, I hate leaving my jewelry laying around, so my purchase was very practical...

The title of this post IS very misleading, but who knows what the future might head on over to the Moxie website, check it out, book a party, or just buy two pairs of shoes, what a concept!

The Crow Kite Festival

As a child, and an adult, I loved watching kites. Nope, I couldn't fly one to save my life! On Friday, Braden & Kaybrie paid a visit to Grandma, so that the parents could have a little ALONE time together. Grandma's neighbor Miss Vi, sent Braden home with a kite. On Sunday, Jason, Braden & Kaybrie put the kite together, the tail included! (A few years ago, Jason tried to omit the tail, and never could get it to fly) Here are a few pics of our kite festival. They had fun, and it was really hard to get good shots because of the wind!

This was Kaybrie's first time to fly a kite, look how they are all focused!

It's a bird. It's a plane. No, it's a Spiderman Kite.

All the string was rolled out, look how high the kite got!

The Crow Spring Break Chronicles......

March 13, 2009- Left Broken Arrow at 12:30PM, arrived in Wilson at 5:15PM, put Kaybrie in big girl panties.

March 14, 2009- Went shopping with Moma, my Sister, Kaybrie and my niece Jadyn. Braden stayed at my sister's house and played w/ my nephews Cody & Rowdy. He had 3 "do not's". Do not shoot a gun, do not get into the pond, and do not ride the 3 wheeler! Confession time-he rode the 3 wheeler. Kaybrie & I got our ears pierced, Kaybrie's 1st time and I got my second hole. Kaybrie wore big girl panties again that evening, but we had to put a diaper on her that night. Jadyn, Rowdy and Cody spent the night with us.

Kaybrie after her piercing, she is so proud!

March 15, 2009- Went to church with Moma. After church, Moma, Braden, Kaybrie, Jadyn, sister Stephanie and I went to Durant for my cousin's baby shower. We got to see Tonya, Shawn, Angela, Destiny, Aunt Pat, Danna Beth, Uncle Monk, Aunt Julie, Liz and Mika. Lot's of cute baby gifts! We can't wait until Carter Reece gets here! Kaybrie wore a diaper all day, then that night was her first night to wear big girl panties and wake up dry! Jadyn, Tristan, and Seth spent the night with us.

Angela Dawn at eating cake, isn't she cute!

March 16,2009- Braden and I picked up cousin Casey at Lone Grove at 7:50AM. I was able to see first hand the damage from the Tornado, just awful. The kiddos played all day outside, on the hay, with their Nintendo DS game systems, and on a large wood spool. All grandkids were there except for Mika and Judah. :(. We grilled hot dogs and ate outside! Kaybrie wore big girl panties all day and only had two accidents, ADULT fault...she told them, they weren't listening. Tristan and Seth went home, to get ready for a trip to El Paso. At 6:30 I met two of my friends from H.S. at Applebees in Ardmore, we talked for 4 hours, why did we wait almost 17 years to do that? I had so much fun! I got back to Mom and Dad's at 11:00, my parents were waiting up on me, playing w/ Kaybrie, Braden was passed out. I felt like a teenager again. Another dry night for Kaybrie!

Seth, Jadyn, Casey, Braden & Tristan, playing Star Wars Clone Wars on the Hay!

Braden, Seth & Casey playing on the wood spool!

H.S. Friends-Heather, Me & Jamie

March 17, 2009- Happy St. Patrick's Day! Another fun filled day outside. Stephanie and I laid out on the trampoline, we got a little sun while watching Moma plant and work in her yard. Braden, Jadyn, Kaybrie & Rowdy played together. My friend Sherry came over during the afternoon, and we talked for hours, its hard to believe that her kids are 21 and almost 15! It was so good to see her. My brother Jason also came over and had dinner with us. Kaybrie did great on potty training, only one accident-when we turned on the water outside. Another dry night.

March 18, 2009- Stephanie, Jadyn & I went to Lone Grove to get groceries and pick up Jadyn's friend Kennedy. Once again, a fun filled day OUTSIDE.....Potty training again went well and we had another dry night.

March 19, 2009-Packed and ready to get home, my Moma is not feeling well, so I cancel her Nuerologist appointment, but first find out that the numbness in her hands and feet and pain in neck will not require surgery, and can be treated w/ medication. After lunch w/ Stephanie and her kids, we start the trek home. We ran into rain in the Arbuckle Mountains until Pauls Valley, heavy rain. I was so nervous, Kaybrie is still wearing panties and I really do not want an accident in my car. My favorite place to stop in OKC is the Sonic right before you get on the Turnpike to Tulsa. This Sonic has a restroom that I can park in front of, send Braden to the restroom and then go myself. Only this time, Kaybrie got to go in with me. She wouldn't go! I had to get the potty chair out of the car in order for the deed to be done! Aaaargh......! We finally arrive home around 4:30PM, HOME SWEET HOME! Kaybrie actually surprised me, she went to the potty all by herself without any help from me or anyone, yep, went to the bathroom by herself, pulled down her panties and just did it! Yay! It's official, my 25 1/2 month old is POTTY TRAINED! As her reward, I have had an interactive Belle Tea Party doll. It has been in its box for several months, just waiting for the right time, and Kaybrie really wanted it but just wasn't ready to take the step, but now she finally took possession and it is her turn to teach all of her baby dolls how to potty...

Kaybrie using the potty with Belle!

So, as you can tell we had a fantastic, adventurous, and fun filled Spring Break! Can't wait until next year!

We are scheduled to go to a baby shower, to Aunt Gracie's, a Mom's Night with her H.S. friends, lots of walks, spending time with cousins, playing outside, shopping, and playing on the hay! I am sure it will be an eventful time! No posts until next Friday the 20th.......Have a safe & wonderful Spring Break! And you ask, Where in the World is Wilson, Oklahoma.....

My Kaybrie is a WINNER: Beautiful Baby Search...

Today is the day, please God I really want to go to New York City! Yes, millions of parents have submitted, all hoping and praying that their beautiful child will be picked to win the prestigious title of being called THE Beautiful Baby on the Regis & Kelly show. Who's child couldn't use the Grand Prize of $125,000 toward their college education. I'm thinking that my college education only cost, hmm $50,000, so with the remainder $75,000, my baby could buy her Moma lots of shoes, drive the car she wants, and eat more than Taco Mayo and Pizza Hut Breadsticks on the weekends, when the meal plan wears out! What mom doesn't want to meet Kelly Ripa, she is so darn cute with her great fashion style and Mom of the Year personality. Please Lord, let my baby be picked!

Could this possibly be the winning picture? I just can't wait until 9AM, so I visit the Regis & Kelly link. Ten babies are chosen today, with only 24 hours to arrive to the top 5. Is Kaybrie there? Since she hasn't been in any of the photo galleries, they must be saving the best for last. Is she there, is she there? Everyone has told me how gorgeous she is. When my Moma got Kaybrie's B-Day invitation with the same picture, she told me that Kaybrie would be the Winner. Ahhh, there are the beautiful babies, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,....10! What? No Way! Can't Be! I am Speechless!

No, Kaybrie was not one of the 10 finalist, there is always hope in the next 48hrs that one of the finalist parents will ignore the phone call or miss their flight and in that case Kaybrie and I will be on that plane out of Tulsa International in no time, I better go shopping, nothing in the closet fits. Just imagine, Prada, Louie, Coach, Jimmy Choo's, please let them miss that plane.

Disclosure: There are millions of parents across the U.S. that are feeling the same way, we all know however, that our babies are WINNERS, and don't need some STUPID contest to tell the World how beautiful they are. But, New York City would have been so nice. Don't you know that it is all about the Parents, not the kids. Well, there is always next year, and yes, Kaybrie will be entered again!

Weight Loss Journey- Week, who knows? I think 9!

Okay, I know, obviously if I don't hold myself accountable who else will? The answer would be my Smart Fun Gorgeous cousin Tonya. We're going to see Wicked this Summer at the PAC, and whoever loses the most is buying the tickets. I did go and weigh-in today, I mean come on I am paying $39.95 per month to do this Weight Watchers thing despite us being UNEMPLOYED, so I better get serious. No really, due to illness of kids and parents, my girls and I have not been able to workout but maybe 1x/week, but we WILL be back on track next week. This weeks results, I lost 1.2lbs. Total weight loss, 6.8lbs. Good thing I only worked out 1x this week and I ate that Braum's Cheeseburger yesterday, or I would have gained! LOL! :)

Spring? K-I-D-S? = G-I-R-L-S? + B-O-Y-S?

This morning my two year old woke up earlier than ever......6:30 AM, I am so used to her sleeping until 8AM or later, I have been spoiled. On the other hand, Braden, my 8 year old has always been a 6:30 AM riser, no matter how late he goes to bed. I've trained him well , he knows not to bother me, play w/ your toys and then at 7 AM you can turn the Disney Channel on, terrible mom, I know, right?
I think maybe Kaybrie is like the birds and all the other animals and somehow their body clocks says Spring is coming, let's get up and enjoy the weather, the sun is shining, and a new day is dawning. This could be a good thing since daylight savings time is this next Sunday.
So, I laid in bed for another 45 minutes, enjoyed some peace and quiet, but the longer my kids are up the louder they get!
Then I walked out and picked up the paper out of the driveway! No wind, already 72 degrees. Yep, I'm taking a walk, OUTSIDE! I send the text message, and then after a few more, Kaybrie & I meet up at at one of my BFF's Carrie and we go walking, the kids were great, they stayed in the strollers the entire time! Wonderful!
When we got back to Carrie's house, the kiddos played outside, they had so much fun! Now Kaybrie and Justin are only six weeks apart, they have a "I miss you when you are not around" relationship, but a "Get out of my space", when you are around relationship! Kaybrie is so bossy and is screaming loud like a G-I-R-L! (I hate that), and Justin is just a boy, there are no other words for it! Cars, dirt, 4-wheelers, he even found a dead bumble bee, now why did I not take a pic of that, maybe Carrie will, and post it on her blog. Yep, Justin is a T-total B-O-Y!Justin & Kaybrie on the 4-Wheeler, doesn't it look like they are holding hands? NOT, he's pushing her hand off his waist!
This was the Temperature in the Shade at 3PM today!

Okay, the Mom's are NEVER in pics, so it is up to us other Mom's to make sure! This is Carrie, Kaybrie & Justin!

March Madness- Probably not at the Crow's Nest...

The Crow's Nest pretty much has a rule: If there is a sporting event such as football or basketball on and if the game is not being watched completely, then ESPN will be seen during commercials to catch the latest scores. Well tonight, Jason interrupted Kaybrie's programming of Sprout to check out the score on OSU vs KSU game. The Road to the Final Four has not even begun, and my two year old is taking a stand! Check This Out!
P.S. Make sure you silence my playlist at the bottom of the page, you do not want to miss this!

Is Your Blog Green this Month?

An Irish Blessing
(A Blessing from St. Patrick)

May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face, May the rains fall soft upon your fields, And, until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.

Now for the fun stuff, I hereby declare that you must have green on your blog this month! Not only in celebration of St. Patrick's Day, but because of SPRING!

If you do have green, then grab the above Irish Cross and put it on your sidebar, if you don't then add some green, I don't want to have to pinch your blog, and believe me I can figure out a way to do it!
